This complete renovation is a must see. I have spent the past year painstakingly recreating a lost elegance and grandness, while at the same time building a modern apartment home of a quality which is seldom if ever available in rental homes. If you are looking for an apartment community feel, this is NOT it! This is a private two unit apartment building which will feel like home when you drive up, and when you live here. Let me tell you a few things about the place.

The apartment is a Top floor unit, and it has NINE FOOT CEILINGS! No one lives above you, and its super well insulated too. The building has a completely secured entrance, and has a two way intercom (audio and color video with night time inferred sensors), door release for your guests, and a keyless entry system for you, so there will be no fumbling with keys. The new door is solid Mahogany with leaded glass and Baldwin Brass hardware. There is a custom leaded glass transom above the entry door.

The property has a large mail box capable of accepting a large volume of personal mail. All exterior building lights are on sensors, including the main front porch, and the lights in the interior hallway are on sensors too. The Foyer has a marble and granite tile floor. There are hardwood stairs leading to the second floor and a carpet runner to enhance the appearance and deaden the sound.

Inside the apartment: Fully renovated, - Five panel solid fir raised panel doors with lever hardware, oversized moldings with Plinth blocks, and Crown moldings throughout -even in the bathroom. You have tons of light (top floor, great exposure) with all new thermo pane windows. Aluminum mini-blinds are provided; there are NEW HARDWOOD FLOORS throughout. Lots of closet and storage space, and all closets have lights. There is a Mahogany colored, wood burning look, gas fired stove in the living room. Great flame and burning embers effect and terrific on the cold winter nights. All rooms have upgraded lighting on dimmer switches, and ceiling fans are provided, and all on are switches. All building systems are brand new and energy efficient. Fully programmable thermostat, CENTRAL AC and a Washer and DRYER in unit. Yep, an IN UNIT FRONT LOAD W/D!

You will also have a large top floor Cedar deck, fully furnished with high end sling back chairs (4) and two slate topped tables. You can use these together to seat four, or you can move them around the deck separately for a different configuration. This space is perfect for entertaining, or just enjoying yourself. This deck is open to the moon and stars at night. There is even a patio heater to take the chill out of the air on those early Spring or Fall evenings. The deck lighting is on a three way switch so you can turn on the lights from the inside, and once you are outside and settled, you can turn the lights off. An electrical receptacle and hose hook up have been provided for your added convenience. You’re going to love this space.

There is a huge private storage area in the attic, and there is a shed in the back yard for bicycle storage. The apartment itself has lots of closet space. You will be amazed.

The eat in kitchen is strikingly beautiful with natural Cherry cabinets floor to ceiling and is wired for TV or internet and your laptop. This has to be the nicest kitchen I’ve built! Pull out trays are in most base cabinets. Drawers close automatically with the slightest touch. Built in microwave WITH A fully vented hood above a gas self cleaning range. Everything is there. Over sized fridge with ice maker, a high end dishwasher, garbage disposal, Corian sink with pull out Kohler sprayer faucet, and abundant counter space. The floors are porcelain ceramic tile. One wall has a floor to ceiling pantry.

The entire apartment is completely wired for phone, cable and internet. Hook ups are everywhere.

There are two bathrooms, All custom tile work, Corian banjo counters with integrated sink, Jacuzzi soaker tub in one with six power jets, and an in-line heater so the water never gets cold while it is being circulated. There is a Tri view medicine cabinet, custom lighting. Lots of cabinet and shelf space for storage.

This entire apartment is painted with custom home colors. No boring apt off white here.

Utilities- Water and trash are included. You will pay for electric and gas which are separately metered. You will pay only for what you use and everything is in your control. There is a touch screen fully programmable thermostat in the living room. All building systems are separate, and BRAND NEW. The main uses for Electricity are the central A/C, and for gas would be the heat and gas fireplace. When you use the direct vent fire place it throws allot of heat and it is over 90% energy efficient. Because the place is so well insulated, has new windows, and all of the systems are energy efficient and new, I believe that you will find the utilities to be reasonable.

Sorry, no dogs and no smoking will be permitted, please don’t ask. An INDOOR, litter trained cat,… belonging to a responsible pet owner will be considered

The property is located in a very nice neighborhood in the Takoma Park/Silver Spring area. It is close to the Columbia Union College and the Washington Adventist Hospital and is equidistant between the Silver Spring and Takoma Park metro stations. It is a five minute bus or bike ride from either metro, but probably just a bit farther than you would want to walk on a daily basis. Street parking is plentiful and free, and no permits are required.
